Follow these steps to complete the web hunt.

Get Ready:

Close your Practice Space window, if it is open. This will erase any Practice data not saved. Press Submit if you want to save your practice data.

Select a hunt by choosing from the list below.   You do not have to do these in order, but you do have to do them all!

Hunt for an Animal Joke:

1. Click here to open the Yahooligans search window.   Resize it like you did when you practiced with the Practice Space window. You are looking for animal jokes, so type "animal jokes" into the empty keyword box.  Use the " " marks!  Press Enter/Return.

2. Yahooligans will give you list of web sites to choose from.  Pick the one which sounds like it would have good animal jokes.   Click on the underlined link.

3. Read until you find a funny new joke.  If you don't find one, use the Back button to go back to your list of animal joke web pages.

4. When you find a good animal joke, copy it and paste it in the box below. Be sure to fill in your name first!

5. Copy the URL of the joke web page and paste it into the box named:

6. Press Submit.  You will see a You did it! message and a button to send you back here.

7. When you return, the form you completed will be blank.  That's OK.

Hunt for a Funny Riddle:

1. If you need to, click here to open the Yahooligans search window:   Resize it like you did when you practiced with the Practice Space window. You are looking for riddles, so type riddles into the empty keyword box.  Press Enter/Return.

2. Yahooligans will give you list of web sites to choose from.  Pick the one which sounds like it would have funny riddles. Click on the underlined link.

3. Read until you find a funny riddle.  If you don't find one, use the Back button to go back to your list of riddles web pages. Or try this riddle that I animated!

4. When you find a good riddle, copy it and paste it in the box below. Be sure to fill in your name first!

5. Copy the URL of the riddle web page and paste it into the box named:

Hunt for a Funny Animated Icon:

1. You do not need Yahooligans for this, so close it.

2. Click here to open IconBazaar in a new window: Resize it like you did when you practiced with the Practice Space window. You are looking for animated icons, so click on the link which will bring you there.

3. There are many pages of animated icons.  Locate the page number list. After you look at the icons on page 1, click on the 2 to see another set.

4. Browse until you find an animated icon which you think is really funny.

5. Bookmark the web page or add it to your favorites list.

6. Now add the animated icon information to the form below:

7. You will have to write 1-3 sentences telling what the icon does that is so funny.

8. Remember to add your name and to copy and paste the URL into the Find the icon here: field.

11. If you are done for the day, close your windows.  Otherwise, go to another activity.

Hunt for a Funny Sound:

1. If you need to, click here to open the Yahooligans search window:   Resize it like you did when you practiced with the Practice Space window. You are looking for sounds, so type sounds into the empty keyword box.  Press Enter/Return.

2. Yahooligans will give you list of sound web pages to choose from.  Pick the one which sounds like it would have funny sounds. Click on the underlined link.

3. To hear a sound, click on the link or picture. Select open.  If you don't like the sound, try another one.

4. When you find a good funny sound, save it to your folder.

5. Now add your sound information to the form below:

6. You will have to write a sentence telling why you think the sound is funny.

7. Remember to add your name and to copy and paste the URL into the Find the sound here: field.

Hunt for Funny Animal Facts:

1. Decide upon 1 of the animals from this list:
   platypus whooping crane emu anteater sea squirt

2. If you need to, click here to open the Yahooligans search window:   Resize it like you did when you practiced with the Practice Space window. You are looking for an animal, so type the name of the animal (platypus, "whooping crane", emu, anteater, "sea squirt") into the empty keyword box.  Notice that 2 word names need the " ".  Press Enter/Return.

3. There are several links for the animal. Find one which will give you facts and a picture. Click the link!

4. Read about your animal.  Find 3 funny or interesting facts to share with other kids.  Note: If you don't like this page, try another one!

5. Bookmark the web page or add it to your favorites list.

6. Save the animal picture into your folder.  You will be able to show it to other kids.

7. Now enter your information into the form below:

Hunt for Funny Books:

1. Close the search window, if it is open.  

2. You are going to do a search for funny children's books using a huge online bookstore.  You can choose the bookstore.   Click on 1 of the links below to open a bookstore web page:
   Amazon.com Barnes&Noble.com

3. Both bookstores sell more than books.   You are only looking for funny books today!

4. You are not going to buy anything.

5. From the main web page of Amazon, click on Books.  Then click on Kids.

6. From the main web page of Barnes & Noble, just click on Kids.

7. You will see on the left a place to Search by Age. Select the group which contains your age.

8. In the keyword box, type one of these words:
   funny, laugh, cartoons, jokes, funny poems, funny stories, humor, funny bone, silly stories, silly poems, comic strips

9. Read about a book by clicking on the underlined link.  Use the Back button to get back to the list of books.  If you find nothing, try another keyword!

10. When you find a funny book you think the library should buy, fill in the information in the form below.

Read the funny things collected by other kids by clicking on one of the storage pages below. Listen to their sounds and look at the animated icons. Find a picture of each funny animal. Use the Back button to get back to this page. Answer this question:
