A Web Hunt for Elementary School

of this activity (for kids only):

When you finish this hunt you will be able to:

1. Tell a new animal joke.
2. Ask a new riddle.
3. Show your classmates a silly animated icon that you have bookmarked.
4. Play for your friends a funny sound that you have downloaded.
5. Look up one of 5 funny animals, and find a picture and 3 funny facts about it.
6. Show your teacher a list of 3 funny books you would like to read.
7. Fill out an online form.
8. Write about what makes something funny.
9. Know what a keyword is.
10. Use Yahooligans to find information.
11. Search an online book catalog.
12. Search through the pages of a big web site.
13. Follow a link to a web page - and get back to where you began.
14. Copy, paste, and save like an expert!

Before you begin, you need to remind yourself how to:

1. Save a picture or a file from a web page into your own folder.  Ask your teacher or helper if it is OK to start. Save the red check mark into your folder.  
   
2. Make your open window shorter so you can see 2 windows at a time.  
   
3. Move a window by pulling it from the blue bar on the top. Put this page on the top.
   
4. Bookmark a web page or put it into your Favorites list.  with this page.
   
5. Click on a link to open a 2nd web page window. by clicking on this link to the Practice Space.  You can see your practice form AND these directions at the same time! Most pages do not work this way, but this one does. Make the Practice Space shorter and move it around so that you see both pages at the same time.
   
6. Copy a web page address (URL) and paste it into your Practice Space.    Copy this page's URL and paste into the Practice field.
   
7. Copy words on a web page and paste them into a storage space.   with these words:  I can do it!  Paste into your Practice Space.
   
8. Close an open window.  by closing the Practice Space. If you want to make sure you did everything right, click the Submit button on the Practice Space form before you close it. Click this link to open the Practice Space data page.
