Your Task

You are being given the opportunity to Make a Difference with Powerful Words of your own.
Imagine that you could go back in time to speak to Samuel de Champlain, Spencer Phips or William Henry Elson just before the quoted document was written. (Click Here to read the documents again or to print them).
What would you say? How would you support your arguments?
After doing individual research into one aspect of Wabanaki culture, you will work with a group to make a Presentation explaining or defending the Wabanaki. You must give Champlain, Phips and Elson good reasons to reevaluate their words. As a group, you must communicate to these men important aspects of the Wabanaki culture about which they are apparently clueless.
You will have only a short time to research, meet as a group, and prepare the presentation. You have to make the most of the time available by working with your classmates to explore, understand, share and discuss as much about the Wabanaki culture as possible.
