• ELLIS(English Language Learning System) is a program to assist both native and new speakers in a vast array of languages
• Favorite Teacher Web Pages - from California foreign language teachers - French, Spanish, German
• fonetiks.org - online spoken dictionary - multiple languages
• InterTran - provides translation service for words, phrases and entire Websites - 28 languages
• Language and Theme Specific Links - from the Kansas Foreign Language Teachers Association - includes links to foreign embassies
• Literacy Center - activities in French and Spanish for elementary level include colors, shapes, alphabet, numbers
• Linguaweb - French, Spanish, German, others, from UK
• The Rosetta Project - with the goal of a digital Rosetta Stone, include full-texts, word, phoneme and phrase banks in over 1,000 languages (living and dead), this is quite a project - take your class on a visit
• Rosetta Stone - software plus web support provides learning environment for ESL and learning many non-English languages
• World Travel Guide - city and country info at your fingertips - search feature and ability to create a "guide" for a city or country

• AltaVista News - search top stories by day, week, or your own range in many countries and regions
• NewsDirectory.com - portal site for media services, including links to searchable global newspaper archives, online magazines, TV networks - when you locate a resource, be sure to remove the frames by clicking on the button provided
• Online Newspapers listing from the Internet Public Library
• Prensa del Mundo - provides links to a great many South American news organizations
• Internation news sydication/RSS feed (sampling) - locate a specific feed by first finding a newspaper then looking for an XML or RSS feed link. Many newspapers are also listed at NewsIsFree.

Latin

• Computers in Medieval Studies: Latin - Netscape browser recommended for many of these links
• vRoma - a MOO world for study of Ancient Rome and Latin - wander through this virtual community as part of a virtual community learning about Rome - teachers can subscribe the entire class - building as well as touring is possible - there are several classroom activities available to get you started

Other Languages

• United States and Brazil - this is the home for an exciting new internation partnership spearheaded by the Library of Congress and its equivalent in Brazil - history, culture, ecology and other issues will be explored jointly via documents, artifacts and articles - side-by-side English, Portuguese
