Correcting & Peer Editing with Microsoft Word

This 1-day or half-day workshop focuses upon the editing tools built into Microsoft Word, both for teacher comment/correcting and for peer-editing. Participants should be comfortable with this word processing program, but do not need expertise. The workshop will only be offered in educational institutions where Word is available to faculty or to a group with Word on laptops. Network and printing facilities are required. The following topics will be explored:

  1. Comments and the Review Toolbar
  2. Use of colored text, highlighting, styles, formatting
  3. Versions
  4. Shared documents
  5. Classroom management
  6. Assessment of the exercise and the document

"Break out sessions" will focus upon:

  1. Creating web pages.
  2. Printing considerations.
  3. Different versions do the same thing differently.
